Also known as the “Wayback Machine,” Archive.org serves as a portal into the past. But not one you can send stuff through, you can just kinda look at stuff on the internet. For example, you can’t tell yourself to quit that nasty porn addiction before it starts, but you CAN view what Yahoo looked like when you used it to internet search “porn” in 1996. Unfortunately, it often doesn’t save images linked to on pages, so you’ll really only get the layout of the page.
To waste more time, google your/your friends’ old websites and see how they’ve developed over the years. Maybe you could learn something from the simplistic designs required by a dial-up modem. Additionally, archive.org is now a full-fledged library, with movies, music, and texts. Check it all out and kill some serious time.
